This has been a very domestic weekend. I think this is because term starts tomorrow and so I have been focusing on the home.
1. Planting spring bulbs.
2. New Country Living to enjoy. My mum buys me the subscription for Christmas and I love to hear that thud on the hall floor once a month.
3. Taking down the tree but...
4. keeping the berries.
5. It was so mild this morning we had the windows open wide. I love the feeling of air in the house.
6. Crochet. Have been getting back to doing this - it got a bit lost last term. It won't happen again!
7. Banana bread to use up the manky ones at the bottom of the bowl & for lunch boxes in the week.
8. Sausage & Leek Pie from St. Nigel Slater's second Kitchen Diaries. I will be cooking from this book regularly. He is, I think, my favourite food writer. It was very tasty by the way!

Lovely pictures, your house looks lovely and fresh! I got the lovely Nigel book too, that pie looks very, very good. I have made a few things already, it is all so tempting! Could I ask where you get your crochet patterns from? Nick x
ReplyDeleteI originally got my patterns on the attic24 blog (on my blog roll) but once I got the hang of the basic stitches I started to make them up. Crochet is easy enough to do this. I also collect pictures on Pinterest for colour ideas and shapes. I should get a book though to move myself on from the basic stitches!
DeleteThe berries look fab, definitely keep them up as long as possible!
ReplyDeleteHi, I need that Nigel book too! Your weekend sounds just perfect. Hope th first day back went well, Jo xx
ReplyDeleteLooks like the perfect weekend, I'm savi g my CL for just the right moment! :) x
ReplyDeleteBanana bread!! Oh thank you! What a perfect idea - it's chilly here today, despite a gorgeous blue sky. Lovely, Axxx
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a perfect weekend! Baking, crochet, pottering - things I adore. Isn't this mild weather lovely? So nice to get some fresh air into the house. I am hearing lots of good things about Kitchen Diaries 2 - I have the first and think I may "need" the second! Hope your return to work goes well.

Such clarity in your pictures, love the glimpses of your home, inspiring and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like just the right kind of weekend! But a scary thought ... that must be February's edition of CL?!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the joy of the monthly subscription thud! Mine is to TheSimple Things although I an partial to a bit of Country Living too. By the way, I am sure you have probably had this before, but I have nominated you for the Liebster award thingy. The questions are over on my blog if you'd like to take part. x
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely weekend. There were bulbs, Country Living and yarn here too, although mine was knitting on this occasion. You can't beat a good banana bread, either. Laura x
ReplyDeleteThanks for the follow, right back at you! I love a mag subscription and the perfect gift. I too am thinking Spring but first I have to finish those Christmas chocolates.
